Well, that was tight.  Just 37 points between the highest and lowest scores.

With scoring that tight, it really is important to get your team selections right.  This week’s departees also include my particular name from this year’s entries.

We appear to have lost pretty much all of the bottom end of the league already, so it’s not going to get any easier.

Anyway, here are the details:

Week 6

Average Score: 53.71 (49 participants) – overall competition average 52

Highest Score: 73 – overall competition high score 118

Total competitors: 5,658,657 (+52,649)

Eliminated This Week:

With 36 points: Happy Hornets (Nick Garvey)
Gameweek Rank:
5,347,966 – bottom 5.49%
Key Selections:
Captain – Giroud (Chelsea) : 2=4 – successful alternatives : 2 (Alexander-Arnold:11 and Robertson:7, both of Liverpool)
7 others scored 9 (including 1 who didn’t play)
Bench:
Nobody actually played so no joy there.

With 38 points: Guns and Row Z (James Frankland)
Gameweek Rank:
5,152,651 – bottom 8.94%
Key Selections:
Captain – Kane (Spurs) : 9=18 – successful alternatives : 0
8 others scored 11
Bench:
Selecting Wan-Bissaka (Palace) : 9 instead of any of the other 10 would’ve done the trick (the second week in a row that’s been the case).

Surviving this week:

The hornets sting (Noel Tillyard) : 40
Bangkok United (Clive Silver) : 41
Germination (Martin Ingoe) : 41
Troy Dee Knee  (Dale Sherlock) : 42

Top Scorer:

With 73 points : GloryHornetBoys (Glyn Francies)
Gameweek Rank:
127,525 – In the top 2.25%
Key Selections:
Salah (Liverpool) : (C) 8=16
Bernardo Silva (Man City) : 14
He also left 23 points on the bench

My team? Still going OK, thanks – 53 this week.

So, that’s week 6 done and dusted – we have 47 teams going into Week 7.  Oh, and before I forget, Darren made another 3 transfers this week for a cost of 8 points, for a net 60.

Have fun tonight, if you’re joining me at Milton Keynes, or it’ll be the Arse on Saturday.
