So you’ve played your Wild Card in Week 3 and made 6 transfers in Week 4.  Can you guess how many in Week 5?

Did you guess 7? No, me neither.  Luckily for Darren, this week’s reshuffle worked and his net score of 39 (from a gross of 63) left him comfortably safe.

There were, of course, the usual raft of sob stories at the bottom, where a changed captain here, a different benched player there could have seen either of our departees survive.  Still, that’s the name of the game so it’s goodbye to a couple of familiar faces.

And let’s give credit to Stuart Brant, whose All Gone Pozzo were yet again top scorers – looking at his profile, he appears top in almost every league he’s in.

Let’s have a look, shall we?

Week 5

Average Score: 47.53 (51 participants) – overall competition average 47

Highest Score: 93 – overall competition high score 138

Eliminated This Week:

With 25 points: Colchester Hornets (Brad Flack)
Gameweek Rank:
5,367,576 – bottom 4.25%
Key Selections:
Captain – Mané (Liverpool) : 2=4 – successful alternatives : 2 (Andre Gray:8 and Zaha:7, albeit on the bench)
9 others scored 13
Bench:
Zaha (Palace) : 7 or Fellaini (Man Utd) : 5 instead of pretty much anybody.

With 28 points: Chiringuito Allstars (Gareth Reynolds)
Gameweek Rank:
4,833,061 – bottom 13.79% (based on gross score of 32).
Key Selections:
Captain – Agüerro (Man City) : 7=14 – successful alternatives : 1 (Wan-Bissaka : 9 – on the bench)
The 10 others scored 18.
Transfer cost -4
Bench:
Selecting Wan-Bissaka (Palace) : 9 instead of any of the other 10 would’ve done the trick.

Fraser (Bournemouth)  : 18
Agüerro (Man City) : (C) 7=14
Doherty (Wolves) : 12

My team? Played the Wild Card despite my stance of last week and it worked out well with a score of 73.

So, 5 weeks in and we have 49 teams going into Week 6 – good luck everybody (assuming you have any left, Darren).

Here’s the sheet: WML_LMS_1819_WK05

See you next week
