Sometimes this thing just writes itself, you know.

Over past weeks the writer of this blog may have inadvertently given the impression that Richarlison was a goal scoring fantasy football powerhouse and that any Watford supporting fantasy owner who did not have him in their team needed to grow up and move on.
I know realise that in fact he is a petulant kid who may have got a bit lucky previously but who is going to cost you points if you are so misguided as to follow the advice of deluded blog writers.  I apologise for any confusion.

Yep, he was in every single team that I have looked at this week – that’s the 2 teams eliminated, the top scoring team, and my own team (oh, yeah, I practice what I preach); did anyone not have him?

A strange old week, with points pretty hard to come by, new (early) lows for the lowest survivor, the highest weekly score, the average score (both WML survivors and the overall competition) and the range top to bottom.

Well, that’s enough waffling, let’s have a look.

Week 3

Average Score: 51.69 (55 participants) – overall competition average 50

Highest Score: 72 – overall competition high score 122

Total competitors: 5,409,356 (+143,999)

Eliminated This Week:

With 24 points: Keith Dublin Rovers (Mark Carpenter)
Gameweek Rank:
5,254,816 – bottom2.86%.
Key Selections:
Captain – Agüerro (Man City) : 2=4 – 0 successful alternatives
7 others scored 7.
Nothing would’ve helped.

With 26 points: Patch FC (Russell Edwards)
Gameweek Rank:
5,227,437 – bottom 3.36%.
Key Selections:
Captain – Aubamyemang (Arsenal) : 2=4 – 0 successful alternatives
7 others scored 8.
Nothing would’ve helped

Surviving this week:

Goalden Boys (Chris Gomm) : 32
Worst Winners Ever (Ash Peters) : 33

Top Scorer:

With 72 points : Mediocre Stars (Jordi Connor)
Gameweek Rank:
168,418 – In the top 3.11%
Key Selections:
Salah (Liverpool) : (C) 8 = 16
Mitrovic (Fulham : 16
Maguire (Leicester) : 10
Kane (Spurs) : 10

My team? Saved mightily by Spurs, getting 24 points from that match alone – that Kane, eh? (don’t look at last year’s blogs). Even went up to 804,000-ish.  I’ll stop including this bit when it all goes wrong.

Week 3 is history and we have 53 teams going into Week 4 – anyone thinking of making Kane captain?

See you next week
